Zagreb/Auckland 29.11.24 Lecture for University of Zagreb
Professor Tamara Bodor and Nina met at the ‘See What We Are Making For You’ lecture and exhibition at Matica in September. Tamara arranged for Nina to lecture to her students about the experiences of Croatian women’s emigration in the diaspora. The lecture elicited an interesting dialogue, and set a precedent for collaboration between the University of Zagreb and Nina in the future. Tamara summarised the opportunity:
“Working with Nina was an intellectual and personal pleasure. As a researcher and lecturer on the Croatian diaspora, I am particularly pleased to meet academics of Croatian origin who discover universally applicable insights in their search for their own identity. Nina's broad knowledge and personal experience as a descendant of migrants have broadened my perspective and opened up new research questions for me. I am grateful for her generous sharing of knowledge and experience, and look forward to future collaborations with her.”
